About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer for a higher education location in Washington, DC. The officer will monitor and patrol assigned campus areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. The role involves interacting with students, staff, and visitors while providing customer service and clear communication. The schedule is Tuesday through Thursday, 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM. Pay is $24.27 per hour.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations, and may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, academic spaces, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas; report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, follow established site procedures, and contact emergency services when appropriate.
Prepare clear and accurate reports, maintain activity logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and campus contacts.
