Security Officer Full Time Overnight

About The Position

As a Security Officer at a commercial real estate location in Durham, North Carolina, you will help maintain a welcoming, controlled environment by managing visitor access, verifying credentials, monitoring alarm panels, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide customer service while using computer and badge systems and communicating with tenants, guests, and team members. The position is full-time and pays $19.00 per hour. The listed schedule is 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements that apply under state or local laws and regulations, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to tenants, employees, visitors, and vendors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, manage visitor registration, and issue temporary credentials according to site requirements.
Maintain accurate access logs, visitor records, and incident documentation, and report access-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, common areas, parking areas, and the property perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
