About The Position

As a full-time overnight Unarmed Security Officer at a healthcare location in New Brunswick, New Jersey, you will help safeguard clients, patients, visitors, and staff. You will patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence, support a welcoming environment, and provide customer service and clear communication while responding to security-related needs. The position pays $21.17 per hour and is scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law. A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
CPR certification is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facility interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assist with directions, and escalate access concerns to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established response and notification procedures.
Accurately document observations, incidents, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and emergency responders as needed.
