About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer in Elwood, Illinois, at a logistics and distribution location. The officer will manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and help maintain an orderly environment while providing customer service and clear communication. The position is scheduled for daytime shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The pay rate is $19.85 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, business operations, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
Communicate professionally with employees, drivers, visitors, and site contacts while supporting orderly traffic flow and access procedures.
