About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a full-time Security Officer for the Protective Services Department at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. This is a night opportunity with a schedule of 6:00 PM–6:15 AM and rotating weekdays and weekends. The Security Officer helps maintain day-to-day safety and security for patients, visitors, and employees by patrolling and monitoring medical center properties. The team is implementing technologies such as metal detectors.

The role is located at Baptist Downtown. Positions designated as requiring a Level II background screening undergo detailed fingerprint-based checks of state (FDLE) and national (FBI) criminal history as a condition of employment and continued employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of law enforcement experience.
• 1–2 years of Security Officer experience.
• 1–2 years of military experience.

Responsibilities

• Report unusual circumstances and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Protect individuals from harm by monitoring for safety hazards.
• Provide escort services.
• Respond to unsafe situations.
• Enforce hospital parking regulations.
• Assist individuals with vehicle problems.
