About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking a Security Officer for its Protective Services Department at Baptist Nassau. The role’s primary function is to help ensure the day-to-day safety and security of patients, visitors, and employees by patrolling and monitoring medical center properties. The team is implementing new technologies, including metal detectors, with patient safety and experience as priorities.

This is a full-time night-shift position working from 6:00 PM to 6:15 AM at Baptist Nassau, 1250 S 18th St, Fernandina Beach, Florida. Positions requiring Level II background screening are subject to detailed fingerprint-based state and national criminal history checks as a condition of employment and continued employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of law enforcement experience preferred.
• 1–2 years of Security Officer experience preferred.
• Associate degree or science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report unusual circumstances and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Protect individuals from harm by monitoring for safety hazards.
• Provide escort services.
• Respond to unsafe situations.
• Enforce hospital parking regulations.
• Assist individuals with vehicle problems.
