Security Officer, Baptist Downtown
About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Security Officer for its Protective Services Department at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. The role’s primary function is to support the day-to-day safety and security of patients, visitors, and employees by patrolling and monitoring medical center properties. The team is implementing new technologies, including metal detectors, with patient safety and experience as priorities. This is a full-time, day opportunity with hours of 6:00 AM–6:00 PM. Rotating weekdays and weekends are required. The position is located at Baptist Downtown in Jacksonville, Florida. A level II background screening, including fingerprint-based state and national criminal history checks, is required for positions designated as requiring it, as a condition of employment and continued employment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Driver's license.
- Rotating weekday and weekend availability.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of law enforcement experience preferred.
- 1–2 years of Security Officer experience preferred.
- 1–2 years of military experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Report unusual circumstances and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitor for safety hazards to protect individuals from harm.
- Provide escort services.
- Respond to unsafe situations.
- Enforce hospital parking regulations.
- Assist individuals with obtaining help for vehicle problems.
