About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer at a utilities location in Long Beach, California, you will help safeguard employees, contractors, and visitors by monitoring access points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and supporting a secure environment. You will maintain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols, help deter security-related incidents, and provide customer service and clear communication. The role follows site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.

The scheduled shifts are Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The pay rate is $22.50 per hour. Applicants must have a TSA-issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

Requirements

• Possess a TSA-issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements applicable under state and/or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors while following site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor records, and direct individuals according to site requirements.
• Control access to utility operations areas and report unauthorized access attempts, unusual activity, and security concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following established escalation and emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, access points, and perimeter areas.
