Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for visitor registration at a logistics and distribution location in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The officer helps safeguard the facility by managing access, monitoring activity, and maintaining a visible security presence. The role also provides customer service and clear communication to employees, visitors, and drivers, supporting a welcoming environment.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver's license if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
Control facility access by verifying credentials and visitor or driver authorization, issuing access credentials, and maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
Monitor access points, loading areas, gates, and surveillance systems; report unauthorized activity, suspicious conditions, and policy violations.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, following site-specific escalation and emergency procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, access points, parking areas, and loading areas to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.
