About The Position

As a part-time unarmed Security Officer at an educational location in Cheyney, Pennsylvania, you will help safeguard the campus and support a welcoming environment. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors, communicate clearly, and document security-related activity. The position is scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and pays $17.95 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following site-specific procedures and participating in emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to established protocols.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain clear communication with campus contacts, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership.
