About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for access management at a higher education location in Cheyney, Pennsylvania. The officer will help manage campus entry points, verify credentials and visitor registrations, monitor access activity, document security information using computer or tablet technology, and provide professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors. The role supports a welcoming campus environment while following campus policies and responding to incidents and emergencies. The stated pay rate is $17.95 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday and Sunday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Monitor access points and verify credentials, authorized access, and visitor registrations in accordance with campus policies.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
Maintain accurate access-control logs, visitor records, and incident documentation.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned campus areas and perimeter locations to identify unauthorized access and security-related concerns.
