About The Position

As a full-time unarmed patrol officer at a commercial real estate location in Durham, North Carolina, you will help safeguard clients and support a welcoming environment for tenants and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible security presence, support access control, and provide customer service. The role involves using clear communication and technology and reflecting Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, care, and integrity. The posted pay rate is $19.00 per hour. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, subject to applicable law.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, if required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property staff while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations; identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and access issues.
Monitor access points and observe visitor, tenant, and contractor activity in accordance with site procedures; report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established reporting and escalation protocols.
Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant security information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
