About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Security Officer for an afternoon campus patrol driving role in Wilmington, North Carolina. The officer will help safeguard an educational site by monitoring and patrolling campus areas, maintaining a visible presence, and supporting a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The driving post requires a valid driver’s license. The role involves customer service, clear communication, and upholding Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity. The position pays $15.00 per hour. The scheduled hours are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Applicable state or local licensing requirements may apply.

Requirements

At least 6 months of security-related experience.
A valid driver’s license for the driving position, in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet licensing requirements that apply under state and/or local laws and regulations, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following security procedures, campus-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events; notify campus personnel or emergency responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, unsecured doors, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
Complete daily activity reports, incident documentation, and required communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
