About The Position

As a Security Officer supporting a technology, media, and telecommunications location in San Diego, you will serve and safeguard clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and providing exceptional customer service. You will support access control and badge-related activities while communicating professionally with employees and visitors. The position is full-time and pays $20.80 per hour. The stated schedule is Thursday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
Supervisory experience.
Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific security procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Monitor access points, visitor activity, and credential requirements according to site policies; report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of business areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security concerns.
Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with company and site requirements.
