About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for morning patrol at a distribution center in Sparrows Point, Maryland. The unarmed officer will safeguard the client’s site by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, supporting access control and alarm response, and helping deter security-related incidents. The role involves providing customer service and clear communication to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific procedures and policies. The posted schedule is Thursday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Pay is $19.61 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Loss prevention experience preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, access-control concerns, alarms, and critical situations, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, entry points, and the business perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unusual conditions, maintenance issues, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation while maintaining a professional presence.
