About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer for unarmed patrol at a distribution center in Hampstead, Maryland. The role provides a fixed weekly anchor shift at an assigned site, with a six-month commitment, and the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. The position is described as part-time, with opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of as many as 40 hours per week and the option to scale back. The pay rate is $15.70 per hour. The listed shift is Saturday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM.

The officer provides security-related customer service at a logistics and distribution location, follows site procedures, conducts patrols, monitors access and visitor activity, and responds to incidents and emergencies as appropriate. Work environments and conditions may vary by site.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements; a license may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license only if the position involves driving.
• Commit to the assigned site and weekly anchor shift for six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond calmly to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, loading areas, parking areas, perimeter, and other assigned locations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed, and maintain accurate logs and reports of security-related observations and incidents.
• Maintain a professional presence to deter unauthorized activity and promptly report hazards, suspicious activity, and maintenance concerns.
