About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Officer for a dynamic retail location in South Elgin, Illinois. The Security Officer serves and safeguards clients, visitors, staff, and team members by conducting patrols, maintaining a visible presence, assisting customers and staff, and communicating with site personnel. The role supports a welcoming environment and follows site-specific policies and procedures. The schedule is Friday and Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The pay rate is $20.95 per hour. Officers may use Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for an unarmed role.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; a license may be required before employment.

A Guard Card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and team members by following security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, participating in emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail and warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points, receive and direct visitors, and verify credentials according to site-specific procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as needed.
Accurately and completely document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities according to Allied Universal and site requirements.
