About The Position

As an unarmed patrol Security Officer supporting an aerospace and defense location in Charlottesville, Virginia, you will safeguard the site through routine patrols, access monitoring, and a visible security presence. You will provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors; communicate clearly; and respond professionally to site needs and security incidents. This is a part-time position scheduled Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., paying $22.05 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badges is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, and maintain accurate logs and reports.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, communicating observations to appropriate site contacts or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and security concerns.
• Assist with enforcing site rules, report maintenance or facility concerns, and complete required documentation using established procedures.
