About The Position

Works as part of a team to provide a safe working environment for Company associates and protect Company assets from loss due to fire, severe weather, theft, and vandalism. Controls access to Company property by ensuring associates and visitors have appropriate identification and credentials, and performs various security duties. Works with minimal supervision, makes decisions within an established range, escalates issues to the Shift Sergeant when necessary, and regularly updates the Shift Sergeant. The position works in indoor and outdoor conditions and may involve long periods sitting or standing at a desk or post, working with a computer or security equipment, and conducting foot patrols. It requires extended standing and walking, the ability to climb steps, reach, bend, kneel, crawl, crouch, grasp, hold and push, and the ability to defend oneself and others against attack. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, operate a motor vehicle for short or long distances, and travel by car. Extended hours may be required during peak workloads or special projects and events. Travel requirements are otherwise listed as none.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Proven experience with a military, state, county, or municipal police agency, or private security training.
Proven ability to make timely, sound decisions and use good judgment in routine responsibilities and emergencies.
Ability to prepare correspondence, reports, and forms in prescribed formats with proper punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
Ability to define problems, collect or interpret data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and concisely to internal and external customers.
Willingness to work any shift and conduct interior and exterior foot patrols.
Visual acuity to observe conditions and situations relevant to maintaining premises security and to read and interpret documents.
Ability to hear auditory alarms and observe closed-circuit security monitors.
Ability to dress professionally and maintain Company-furnished uniforms.
Ability to learn security-related software.
Ability to communicate verbally and exchange accurate information regularly.
Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods; climb steps; reach, bend, kneel, crawl, and crouch; use hands and arms to grasp, hold, and push; use a computer and security equipment; and defend oneself and others against attack.
Ability to lift a maximum of 25 pounds.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle for short or long distances and travel by car.
Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

Remain vigilant and observant while stationed at lobby posts and on patrol.
Monitor alarm and access control systems and respond to signals according to established procedures.
Conduct required interior and perimeter patrols of Western & Southern Financial Group property.
Report issues verbally by radio and document them accurately and promptly according to procedures.
Monitor CCTV and radios and respond according to established procedures.
Control access according to established procedures and help provide a safe working environment for Company associates.
Maintain accurate and timely records and written reports.
Maintain a professional appearance and Company-furnished uniforms.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all policies and standards.
Update the Shift Sergeant regularly and escalate matters when necessary.
