Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol
About The Position
As a full-time unarmed Security Officer at a university location in Nashville, Tennessee, you will serve and safeguard clients in the education industry. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, help deter incidents, manage access control, and support badge-related processes. The role involves providing customer service and clear communication to students, staff, visitors, and campus partners while helping maintain a welcoming environment. The position pays $17.50 per hour. The listed schedule is Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by following site-specific procedures and policies and carrying out emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate campus contacts or emergency services when needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned academic, residential, administrative, and exterior areas, including building perimeters and parking locations.
- Monitor for unusual activity, facility concerns, and policy violations; document observations and incidents in accurate, timely reports.
- Assist with access control, visitor directions, and campus event support while helping deter unauthorized activity and maintaining a professional presence.
