Security Officer - Full Time Unarmed Patrol

About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol Security Officer for a government education location in Ashburn, Virginia. The officer will help safeguard students, staff, visitors, and community members by conducting patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, supporting access procedures, responding to concerns and incidents, and providing customer service. The position pays $18.87 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions. CPR certification, customer service experience, a guard card or license, and comfort using a computer or tablet are preferred.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by following site-specific security procedures, school policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, student or visitor concerns, and critical situations, following reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and help maintain orderly entry and exit procedures during school operations and events.
Accurately document incidents, observations, and policy violations, and communicate relevant information to designated school personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
