About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer for a healthcare location in Syracuse, New York. This is a driving post supporting patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment. The role includes routine patrols, a visible security presence, customer service, clear communication, and support for site-specific procedures and security policies. Pay is $23.44 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, Tuesday 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, Thursday 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, and Sunday 10:00 PM–6:00 AM.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located; a valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
• A New York State Security Guard License.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply prior to employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while following site-specific procedures and security policies in a healthcare setting.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, patient care areas, parking areas, entrances, and surrounding property, identifying and reporting unusual activity or conditions.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established emergency response procedures.
• Monitor access points and support visitor management procedures while maintaining a professional presence.
• Accurately and promptly document observations, incidents, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
