About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer for a healthcare location in Syracuse, New York. The role involves driving patrols and requires a valid driver’s license and a New York State Security Guard License. The officer will help safeguard patients, visitors, staff, and the facility by conducting patrols, maintaining a visible presence, responding to security concerns, and providing customer service. The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $23.44 per hour. Applicants must meet the stated experience, age, and education requirements. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply before employment.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located.
- New York State Security Guard License.
- At least 6 months of security-related experience.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while following security procedures and site-specific policies.
- Carry out emergency response activities when appropriate in the healthcare setting.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document events.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, provide directions and assistance, and report unusual conditions.
- Complete required reports, maintain accurate activity logs, and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
