About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer Screening Checkpoint in Lexington, Kentucky, you will serve and safeguard clients in an educational setting. You will screen visitors and belongings, monitor access points, and respond to security-related concerns while helping maintain a welcoming environment. The role involves providing customer service, communicating clearly, and using screening equipment to help deter incidents.

The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations, and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• X-ray screening experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access screening protocols, and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals and permitted items entering designated campus facilities in accordance with established procedures, and report prohibited items or concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Monitor entry points and remain aware of activity in assigned areas to help deter unauthorized access and support a welcoming educational environment.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following site-specific reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned campus areas and perimeters when directed, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns.
