About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer serving as a Visitor Reception professional at an education-focused location in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, you will help safeguard the client while creating a welcoming first impression. You will greet visitors, manage access, monitor activity, and respond to security-related concerns. The role requires exceptional customer service and clear communication to help maintain an inviting environment. The scheduled shifts are Monday through Thursday and Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The pay rate is $18.60 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements that apply under state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional front-desk customer service by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
Greet students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors; verify access credentials; and direct guests according to visitor-management procedures.
Monitor entry activity, access-control systems, cameras, alarms, and communications equipment, and report unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations, following emergency response protocols as applicable.
Maintain accurate visitor logs, incident reports, and other required documentation while supporting a welcoming and professional front-desk environment.
