About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients across a range of industries. Officers can use the company’s shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on their availability, gaining site experience across different industries. The role may involve irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. This posting is for the Deer Park area and lists pay of $14.75 per hour, open availability, and a $1,000 hiring bonus for new hires. A TWIC card and driver’s license are required. Applicants are subject to a DISA background check and drug screen.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• A TWIC card and driver’s license are required.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Submit to a background investigation and drug screen, subject to applicable laws.
• Be at least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state; 21 years of age if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or the fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
