About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the building remains a safe and secure environment. The position maintains working relationships with police and alarm monitoring services, supports compliance with building safety and security measures, and stays informed about current and upcoming events in the city and county. The officer also answers telephone calls professionally, keeps the desk clean and orderly, and responds promptly to resident and guest requests.

Requirements

Active Hawaii Guard Card.
Two years of related experience and/or training.
Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English to analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

Ensure the building is a safe and secure environment at all times.
Maintain a close working relationship with police and alarm monitoring services.
Ensure building safety and security measures are followed.
Maintain up-to-date information about current and future events in the city and county.
Answer the telephone pleasantly and professionally within three rings.
Keep the desk clean, neat, and orderly.
Respond expeditiously to resident and guest requests.
