About The Position

The part-time Security Officer at The Resort at Papakea is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for the building, residents, and guests. The role works closely with police and alarm monitoring services, ensures building safety and security measures are followed, and keeps informed about current and upcoming events in the city and county. The officer also answers telephone calls professionally, maintains an orderly desk, and responds promptly to resident and guest requests.

The Resort at Papakea is located on Maui’s Kaanapali Coast and includes 13 oceanfront acres, gardens, and condominium accommodations with furnished balconies or lanais. Columbia Hospitality describes its workplace as inclusive, values-driven, and focused on creating exceptional experiences.

Requirements

• Active Hawaii Guard Card.
• Two years of related experience and/or training.
• Excellent verbal and people skills.
• Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking skills to analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the building is safe and secure at all times.
• Maintain a close working relationship with police and alarm monitoring services.
• Ensure proper building safety and security measures are followed.
• Maintain up-to-date information about current and future events in the city and county.
• Answer the telephone pleasantly and professionally within three rings.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly desk.
• Respond expeditiously to resident and guest requests.
