About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time experienced Security Officer in Newport, Kentucky. In this unarmed patrol role at a public-facing location, the officer monitors and patrols assigned areas, maintains a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, supports access control, responds to concerns, and provides professional customer service to visitors and team members. The position pays $16.50 per hour and has scheduled shifts on Monday and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additional shifts may be available through the company's Claim a Shift platform.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Experience with access control and badges.

Responsibilities

Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and perform emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and use problem-solving skills.
Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, exterior spaces, and perimeter areas.
Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts.
Assist visitors and tenants with directions, access questions, and general information while helping deter unauthorized activity.
