About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced for patrol and badge services at a residential building in New York, NY. The role provides a fixed weekly schedule at an assigned site, with a six-month commitment to the designated shifts. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and adjust their hours when needed. The stated pay rate is $17.25 per hour. The schedule is Friday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The Security Officer provides customer service to residents, visitors, and staff while carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies. The officer conducts unarmed patrols, monitors access points, responds to incidents and concerns, and documents activity. The role may involve emergency response activities when appropriate.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years of age.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff while following security procedures and site-specific policies.
• Take part in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations, using problem-solving skills.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential buildings, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain required daily activity documentation.
