About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Enhanced Security Officer for an assigned site in Northampton, Pennsylvania. The role provides a fixed weekly anchor shift with a six-month commitment, and offers the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Employees may increase their hours up to 40 hours per week or scale back as needed. The position is at a logistics and distribution location and pays $18.03 per hour. The scheduled shift is Sunday, 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The Security Officer supports site security by providing customer service, following site-specific procedures, controlling facility access, screening people and deliveries, responding to alarms and incidents, and conducting and documenting patrols. Applicants should be comfortable using a computer or tablet; prior access-control, badge-management, and customer-service experience are preferred.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements before employment, if required.
• Provide a valid driver's license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor and control facility access by verifying credentials, authorizing entry under site procedures, and maintaining accurate visitor, contractor, and delivery records.
• Screen incoming and outgoing personnel, vehicles, shipments, and deliveries as directed by site-specific policies to help deter unauthorized access and loss.
• Respond calmly and use problem-solving skills when handling access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations; escalate concerns to appropriate site contacts or emergency personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, the business, and perimeter; document observations and report security-related concerns.
