About The Position

The Security Officer for ParkX Management ensures that the facility operates smoothly, safely, and cleanly, and provides a positive experience for residents, tenants, and guests. The role includes property patrols, access control, safety observation and reporting, enforcement of property rules, and communication with guests and management. At Reston and Loudoun Station, the officer assists the Marketing team before, during, and after events as needed. At Reston Station, the officer also manages valet operations, helps keep traffic moving onto the plaza, ensures vehicles are not parked on the plaza or down ramp, and ensures the plaza marketing plan is followed during special events. The position is scheduled Friday through Monday, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. The listed Virginia compensation range is $17–$18 USD. A benefits package is offered, though benefits vary depending on the role.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Security officer certification from the state of Virginia.
At least 1 year of experience in a customer-service-related field.
Valid driver's license without major violations.
Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Complete an hourly patrol route of the property using the security system.
Control access for guests, tenants, and vendors.
Ensure property is not damaged.
Conduct routine foot patrols in and around the building.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Observe and report safety concerns.
Issue banning notices to rule violators, maintain files for the notices, and notify management when necessary.
Maintain the appearance of the two plaza kiosks.
Enforce the no-dogs-on-the-plaza policy.
Keep information such as Kiss N Ride details, contact phone numbers, and rules of conduct updated, and communicate it to guests as needed.
Report unknown work occurring at the property to management.
Immediately notify Park X and commercial and residential property management if anyone parks illegally on the plaza.
Inform guests that fire access areas must remain accessible for fire trucks and ambulances.
Close loading dock doors as needed.
Report concerns to management.
Assist the Marketing team before, during, and after events at Reston and Loudoun Station as needed.
At Reston Station, manage valet operations and ensure cars are not parked on the plaza or down ramp.
At Reston Station, ensure the plaza marketing plan is followed during special events.
At Reston Station, manage traffic coming onto the plaza and keep it moving.
