About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced for an assigned site in Gilroy, California. The role provides consistent anchor shifts on a fixed weekly schedule, with a six-month commitment to the assigned site and shifts. Employees may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, potentially increasing their hours up to 40 hours per week while retaining the option to scale back.

The position provides security and customer service for clients, shoppers, store associates, visitors, and other personnel. Duties include patrolling retail and perimeter areas, monitoring activity and access points, responding to incidents and alarms, and documenting events as required. The role pays $20.00 per hour and has scheduled shifts Thursday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the retail sales floor, entrances, parking areas, receiving areas, and surrounding perimeter to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity according to site procedures to help deter theft, trespassing, and other policy violations.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document events as required.
• Maintain a professional presence and provide directions, assistance, and support to visitors and personnel.
