About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced for an armed patrol role at a manufacturing and industrial site in Newport News, Virginia. The position has an assigned weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Additional shifts may allow the officer to work up to 40 hours per week, with the flexibility to scale back. The listed pay rate is $17.95 per hour. The schedule is Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM.

Requirements

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Must participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service while carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations, following established escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor and control facility access by verifying credentials, screening authorized visitors and contractors, and documenting entry and exit activity.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs, and communicate relevant observations to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
