About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced for armed security patrols at an assigned government facility in Greensboro, North Carolina. The position offers a designated weekly anchor shift, with a six-month commitment, and the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Additional shifts may allow the employee to build up to a full-time schedule of as many as 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The listed schedule is Thursday, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The pay rate is $21.75 per hour.

The officer provides customer service while carrying out site security procedures and emergency response activities. Duties include armed patrols, monitoring access, responding to incidents and alarms, and maintaining reports and logs. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. The role also requires participation in industry-specific security training.

Requirements

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• Possess at least 5 years of security-related experience.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel or public emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs, incident documentation, and records of security-related observations.
