Security Officer Part Time - Site Access

About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to support access control at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in West Columbia, South Carolina. The officer will help maintain a secure environment by managing access points, monitoring entry activity, responding to security concerns, and providing customer service. The role is scheduled Friday and Saturday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM and pays $17.51 per hour.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor registration, and maintain accurate entry and exit records according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, the business, and perimeter areas to identify and report unauthorized access, unusual activity, or security concerns.
Support a professional, customer-focused environment while deterring unauthorized entry and protecting confidential operations and assets.
