About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer at a healthcare location in Portage, Michigan, you will help safeguard clients by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, and maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents. You will support patients, visitors, and staff with customer service, clear communication, and professional responses to security needs. The role offers a schedule that may be built using the Claim a Shift platform, with the listed schedule of Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The position pays $18.00 per hour. Duties include following security procedures and site-specific policies, responding calmly to incidents and critical situations, and conducting regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Work environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and perform emergency response activities when appropriate.
