About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed patrol Security Officer in Birmingham, Alabama, assigned to a designated site and weekly shift. The role has a fixed schedule that requires a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Additional shifts may allow the employee to work up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The position pays $17.77 per hour and is scheduled Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

The Security Officer provides customer service while carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities. The assignment includes unarmed patrols of a medical office building and its surrounding areas, responding to incidents and alarms, monitoring access and visitors, and documenting security-related activities.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, patients, vendors, and staff while following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the medical office building, parking areas, entrances, common areas, and perimeter to identify unusual activity, property concerns, and maintenance issues.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, provide directions and assistance, and help maintain an orderly environment.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities according to company and site reporting procedures.
