About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer for patrol work at a commercial office property in Reston, Virginia. The role provides a designated weekly anchor shift at an assigned site, requiring a six-month commitment. Employees may also claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. The pay rate is $21.53 per hour.

The officer provides customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property management personnel; follows site-specific access-control and emergency-response procedures; responds to incidents and alarms; and conducts regular and random unarmed patrols. The position requires accurate activity and incident documentation and communication with supervisors and property representatives. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet the age requirement for unarmed roles. Background investigation and drug screening are conditions of employment, subject to applicable law.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property management personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency-response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, building alarms, tenant concerns, and critical situations, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, common areas, parking facilities, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas; identify and report security concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, vendor, and delivery activity in accordance with property policies; report unusual activity and help direct individuals.
• Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation accurately, and communicate relevant security information to supervisors and property representatives.
