About The Position

As a full-time Security Officer with Allied Universal in Summerville, South Carolina, you will serve and safeguard clients at a logistics and distribution location. This unarmed patrol role involves routine patrols, monitoring access points, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, and providing professional customer service and communication. The position uses technology and is part of a team described as caring, agile, reliable, innovative, and acting with integrity.

The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The pay rate is $17.50 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under state or local rules. A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and drivers by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of distribution areas, loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access by verifying credentials, observing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and documenting visitor, contractor, and delivery activity according to site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and complete required reports.
• Observe and report unusual conditions, damaged property, unsecured doors or gates, and other security concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
