About The Position

The Adena Health System Security Officer provides physical security protection, promotes safety, and assists patients, visitors, and caregivers within campus buildings. The role uses security systems, personal observations, regular patrols, and other methods to help maintain a safe environment. The officer enforces corporate policies; responds to disruptive situations using de-escalation techniques; escalates dynamic situations to law enforcement; completes reports in a timely manner; creates new or replacement access badges; and performs safety-preventive-maintenance tasks. The position is full-time with a variable shift at the Chillicothe Security department. Salary is based on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Complete a security program that includes formal report writing and handling disruptive situations, or successfully complete on-the-job training within the first 90 days.
Valid Ohio driver's license.

Nice To Haves

IAHSS Basic Level Security Officer Certification.
1–2 years of physical security experience in a healthcare environment.
1–2 years of law enforcement experience.
1–2 years of corrections experience.
1–2 years of first responder experience.
