About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer – Access Authorization for an assigned technology, media, and telecommunications site in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The position pays $17.75 per hour and has a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. The stated shift is Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Employees may claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform and can work up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The role provides customer service and performs site-specific security procedures, access monitoring, patrols, incident response, and reporting.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require candidates to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in accordance with post orders and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, entry points, and other assigned locations to identify unusual activity and deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and report suspicious activity or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Accurately document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities in accordance with company and site reporting requirements.
