About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Authorization in Elwood, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as logistics and distribution. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and drivers while supporting a welcoming environment. The role is full time and pays $19.85 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday through Thursday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor access points, verify credentials, process authorized entries and exits, and maintain visitor, contractor, and vehicle access records in accordance with site requirements.
Respond calmly to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters to appropriate personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
Prepare accurate reports and document incidents, observations, and unusual activity.
