About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer Access Authorization near Barnegat, New Jersey, you will help safeguard clients at a chemical and petrochemical location. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage badges, and assist visitors and employees professionally. You will maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents while providing customer service and clear communication. The role includes a scheduled shift Friday and Saturday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify authorization and identification as required, and maintain visitor, contractor, and vehicle access records.
• Respond calmly to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established procedures and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, grounds, buildings, and perimeter areas to identify unauthorized activity or potential hazards.
• Support access procedures at a chemical and petrochemical location, including requirements for restricted areas, contractor coordination, and incident reporting.
