About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a private school in La Jolla, California. The role serves and safeguards the school community by monitoring and patrolling campus areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and supporting a welcoming campus environment. The officer interacts with students, staff, parents, and visitors, providing customer service and clear communication. The scheduled shifts are Monday and Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.85 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, parents, and visitors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical situations, and other critical events, following established school procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, athletic areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious conditions or policy concerns, and communicate with school personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
Prepare accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities.
Help maintain a welcoming educational environment for the school community.
