About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Patrol Security Officer for a government location in Raleigh, North Carolina. The officer will help safeguard the site by conducting routine armed patrols, maintaining a visible presence, monitoring access, and supporting a welcoming environment through professional communication and customer service. The role requires responding to incidents with integrity and sound judgment and collaborating with team members in a government corrections environment. The position pays $21.50 per hour. The listed schedule is Wednesday through Friday, 5:45 AM to 6:00 PM. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and drug screen as permitted by law, and must participate in industry-specific security training. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements applicable under state and/or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and perform emergency response activities when appropriate within a government corrections environment.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, following established post orders and reporting protocols.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Monitor access points and verify authorized entry and exit in accordance with site-specific procedures.
Document observations and incidents as required.
Maintain a professional presence when communicating with staff, visitors, and other authorized personnel.
Promptly report security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
