Security Officer Full Time Armed Patrol

About The Position

As a full-time Armed Patrol Security Officer at a healthcare location in Norfolk, Virginia, you will help safeguard patients, donors, visitors, staff, and the facility. You will conduct armed patrols, maintain a visible security presence, monitor access and visitor activity, and respond professionally to security concerns and emergencies. The role includes providing customer service and following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities. Pay is $20.00 per hour. The posted schedule is Thursday and Friday, 6:00 AM–1:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participation in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, donors, visitors, and staff while carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and first responders as needed.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and help maintain orderly movement throughout the location.
Carry and maintain an assigned firearm and other equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, company policies, and site procedures.
