Security Officer Armed Patrol Full Time
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Security Professional to serve and safeguard clients at government buildings and properties on the Fairfax County Government Contract. The role involves monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, helping deter security-related incidents, and providing a welcoming and secure presence for staff and visitors. Officers follow site-specific policies, respond to incidents, monitor sensitive areas, document observations, and assist with emergency response activities. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Pay is $21.74 per hour. The contract offers overtime hours to full-time officers, free onsite parking, and promotional opportunities. Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
- Must have 2 years of armed-related experience in security, law enforcement, or the U.S. military.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess an active Armed VA DCJS credential; armed DCJS training will be provided if proof of prior experience is provided.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Nice To Haves
- Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton experience; training can be provided if needed.
- CPR and first aid certification; training can be provided if needed.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies at government locations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout facilities and their perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and potential threats.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help maintain a secure environment for staff and visitors.
- Document and report security-related incidents, unusual observations, and policy violations as required.
- Assist with emergency response activities according to established protocols and site leadership instructions.
- Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and emergency personnel as needed.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
