About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer for an office building/shelter location in San Diego, California. The officer will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The position calls for exceptional customer service, professional communication, integrity, and teamwork when responding to security-related concerns. The role is scheduled Monday, Thursday, and Sunday from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, at a pay rate of $22.00 per hour. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, consistent with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, staff, visitors, and service providers by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and respectfully to incidents, resident concerns, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations.
Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, and the perimeter to identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
Monitor access points, verify visitor and vendor authorization according to site procedures, and document security activities, incidents, and observations.
Support a respectful, trauma-informed environment by communicating professionally with individuals experiencing homelessness and referring concerns to appropriate site personnel.
