About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Patrol Unarmed Security Officer at a logistics and distribution location in Newark, California. The officer monitors and patrols assigned areas, maintains a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, supports access control, provides customer service, communicates with team members and visitors, and uses technology to document observations. The position is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and pays $23.60 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
X-ray screening experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor access points, check in authorized visitors and delivery personnel, and report suspicious activity or unauthorized access in accordance with site procedures.
Respond calmly and use problem-solving skills in incidents and critical situations, including vehicle, trailer, package, or facility-related concerns.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the business, parking areas, loading docks, trailer yards, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Accurately document observations, incidents, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
